This morning Dave and I gave a presentation on the "Challenges and best practices under Art. 16 of Regulation 2019/947" to the EASA online UAS TeB (technical body) meeting with Member State authorities.
Discussion time at the meeting was very short and there were very few questions. Important to note is that EASA supported our statements on Member State flexibility in setting rules under Article 16 and again reiterated that they intend to change Regulation 2019/947 in a manner that makes clear that Article 16 Authorisations are self-standing and not part of either the open category or specific category - without of course requiring a change in existing Article 16 Authorisations.
