Mailutskick med info från EMFU:
Dear All,
Europe Air Sports – EMFU is now on the board
As you know, around half of the annual EMFU budget consists of our membership fee of Europe Air Sports (EAS)( https://europe-air-sports.org/), the European Association representing sports and recreational aviation in Europe. The EMFU has been a member of EAS since our beginning (2017). Our membership ensures access to their network and resources, including a professional lobbyist in Brussels. We have cooperated closely with EAS over the years, mainly through the excellent work of our EMFU President Dave Phipps. Thanks to this cooperation, the EAS was instrumental in obtaining our Article 16 exemption in the EU legislation and has continued to be supportive of our interests and work. Over the last two years EMFU Board Member Jürgen Lefevere has been increasingly involved in the work of EAS.
The EMFU is the largest association within the EAS and it’s always been clear to both EAS and the EMFU that many of our interests overlap and we depend on each other’s support. In recognition of this, the EAS General Meeting last weekend agreed to add EMFU board member Jürgen Lefevere as a member of the board of EAS. Having an EMFU board member also on the board of EAS will help us further strengthen the cooperation between our two organisations.
Occurrence Reporting
The European Commission is planning to review the Occurrence Reporting Regulation(Commission Implementing Regulation 2015/2018/EU), in particular to include occurrences (incidents, accidents) related to unmanned aircraft. This is very likely to affect us as well. We have agreed with EAS that we will follow this closely to ensure that we avoid further unnecessary restrictions for our sport.
I’m aware that some of you already have occurrence reporting systems in place – including the BMFA (https://rcc.bmfa.club/art16-occurrence-reporting) and the DMFV (https://fida.aero/public-form/2) and there’s also the EU-wide ECCAIRS portal (https://aviationreporting.eu/). To help us prepare our inputs and position for the upcoming review of the EU rules, I’d very much like to have wider overview of any other occurrence reporting systems already in place or planned. I’m also very interested in the occurrence reporting requirements in your Article 16 Authorisations. Can you please contact me should you have a system in place or planned, and generally with any occurrence reporting requirements in your Article 16 Authorisation?
Please send your information straight to jurgen@lefevere.eu
Kind regards,
Jürgen Lefevere
